Mayfield Joinery situated in Crowborough, East Sussex, appreciate fine quality woodworking machinery as indeed they value the high quality of joinery work they produce. Proprietor Bob Avery appreciates that in order to achieve the required build quality and finish for their products it is necessary to be equipped with the very best machinery to meet the standards which they set for themselves.
When it came to a new sander Mayfield consulted with Daltons Wadkin who had no hesitation in recommending a Houfek Buldog 7 Series Wide Belt Sander with an 1100 mm capacity and a fixed height to the power feed bed. Adjustment to the sanding depth capacity is provided by a power operated rise and fall sanding head which in this case incorporated a single sanding belt with roller and pad. The machine was also equipped with automatic centring of the feed belt and a frequency converter for providing variable feed speeds from 3 to 12 metres per minute.
Daltons Wadkin Sales Director Andy Walsh commented “This is a top of the range machine from our manufacturing partners in the Czech Republic and should meet all Mayfield Joinery’s requirements for a long time to come. The fixed table height is an advantage whether the machine is installed in production lines or whether as in this case the operator can use infeed and outfeed supports for the work which do not have to be adjusted to cope with different depths of sanding.”
Bob Avery is delighted with the new machine which interestingly replaces an earlier Diplomat Wide Belt Sander supplied by Daltons some 15 years ago and which handled all the company’s requirements until now. He commented “We are very busy at the moment in spite of current economic conditions and this is a good time for us to raise our game yet again by installing superior sanding technology. We were delighted with the service provided by Daltons Wadkin who also managed to deliver the machine using their own transport and get it safely into our building in spite of a fairly difficult approach road.”
