Beam saws are automatic panel sawing machines designed for processing large volumes of wood-based panels (as well as other advanced materials). Panels are loaded manually from the front or automatically from the rear or side of the machine. A series of panel grippers secure each panel (or stack of panels) and position the material ready for cutting. A mobile saw carriage running beneath the machine bed carries out the panel sizing. After each saw cut the panels are automatically repositioned for the next cut while the operator removes finished pieces from the front of the machine for secondary crosscutting as necessary.
