Daltons Wadkin, owners of the Wadkin brand and manufacturers of a range of original Wadkin classical machine designs, have announced their intention to increase the number of products bearing the Wadkin name to include equipment manufactured for them.
The Nottingham based company which also distributes many other high profile brands in the UK and Ireland including Stenner, Altendorf, Elcon, Salvador, etc, see this as a first step towards re-establishing a broad range of Wadkin approved products to fill the gaps left by the disappearance of many original designs and also where appropriate add further machine types not previously marketed under the Wadkin banner.
Francis Dalton commented “We already manufacture a range of original Wadkin classical machines here in Nottingham which we may well be expanding when opportunity allows. This includes Sawbenches, Crosscut Saws, Bandsaws, Mortisers and a Spindle Moulder but it seems a natural step to enhance the range by providing additional high quality machines manufactured in Europe to standards which meet our criteria.” Francis went on to say that when it comes to the use of the Wadkin name quality is everything. “We would not even consider using the Wadkin name on any machine which did not meet the highest standards and for which we were not able to guarantee the prompt availability of spare parts and the very best back-up support for the equipment out in the field.”
“Amongst the machines being added to an all European Wadkin portfolio with immediate effect are a range of Wide Belt Sanders, Surface Planing, Thicknessing and Planing/ Thicknessing Machines and also a Template Maker. We hope shortly however to add additional Spindle Moulders, CNC equipment, Planing and Moulding Machines and Edge Banders.”
Await further news regarding the above but one other point stressed by Francis was that as a recognition of their build quality and performance all Wadkin branded machines, whether made in Nottingham or elsewhere, will carry a full two-year warranty.
