Newfields Timber are an independent timber merchant based in Stoke On Trent, supplying high quality softwood timber for building and freight packaging. To meet the growing demand for cut to size sheet material, they looked to specialist supplier Daltons Wadkin for a replacement vertical panel saw.

Following a detailed demonstration at Daltons Wadkin’s Nottingham showroom, Newfields Timber chose to invest in the Elcon 215DS vertical panel saw. With a large 4300 x 2150mm sheet capacity and 55mm cutting depth, the 215DS offers fast, safe and accurate panel sizing.
Optional digital readouts to the vertical and horizontal cutting axis were specified for a guaranteed cutting accuracy of 0.1mm from one operator to another. In addition, an extended heavy duty measuring stop was added and foot operated transport rollers to facilitate the loading of heavier sheets.
“A lot of these cases aren’t standard, They’re all different sizes it’s so easy to for the lads to to get a cutting list to go and set up for that particular size and it can be cut within minutes. Don’t get me wrong, if were doing a hundred of those cases, it’s equally as good.”
