  • Description

Brand new to the SCM line up is the Startech CN K desktop CNC router. This compact machining centre provides a fantastic, cost-effective solution for smaller joinery shops, schools, colleges and universities to dive into the world of CNC production.

The SCM CN K works on 3 interpolating axis (X, Y, Z) with the option for a fourth rotary axis for produced turned work. The working area is fully enclosed for operator protection while allowing good visibility with LED lighting and large observation window. The entire front opens for unencumbered loading and unloading components.

As standard the machine is supplied with an aluminium T-slot table to allow jigs and workpiece fixtures to be secured. Five optional suction cups can be added for holding flat panels or planed timber. Although technically a “desk top CNC” the CN K is available with a floor standing support base.

The HICAM2 HMI software allows G code from third part CAD/ CAM software suits to be imported ready for machining.

A powerful hITECO 2.4 kW spindle with a R25 tool chuck allows for a vast array of tooling to be used on the machine, ideal for cutting wood, plastics, composites or non-ferrous metal. A focused extraction foot around the cutting tools effectively removes swarf and dust when connected to a suitable dust extraction unit (sold separately).

Note 1 – it is recommended that customers check to verify the G-code produced by third party software is compatible with the HICAM2 interface.

Note 2 – PC require for operation, not included.
