5 axis CNC machining
Full 5 axis control allows the working head to be positioned around all five sides of a three dimensional object. A single or twin spindle router head can be configured with or without an automatic tool changer for carrying out multiple machining operations in one uninterrupted cycle. An optional 6th axis can be used for rotating a work piece such as a chair spindle for the production of turned components.
Construction and working capacities
Usually constructed with a fixed gantry and moving table(s), CNC machining centres feature increased Z axis capacities of at least 700mm but often over 1000mm to accommodate large work pieces. The Greda Diva is the smallest 5 axis machine we offer with a compact footprint but still with a working area of 1800 x 2000mm. Larger models such as the Argo and Sprinter can accommodate work up to 3600 x 2600mm but larger options are available if required.
Work piece clamping
Greda CNC machining centres can be specified with a choice of work piece holding methods including single or twin working tables for tandem loading, vacuum tables for securing the work piece directly, t-slot tables for attaching jigs and a range of pneumatic clamping systems for securing irregular shaped components.
