Benefits of a Kimla Fiber Laser

As standard Kimla Fiber Lasers are equipped with a host of features for dynamic performance and reliable production.

tick

High speed linear drives to each axis

Linear drives to all three axes result in frictionless movement, no wearable parts, high operating speeds and increased acceleration while maintaining the accuracy.

tick

Cutting speeds up to 5000 mm/ sec

The combination of Kimla’s linear drive technology, monolithic frame design and unique control system enables operating speeds up to 5000 mm/sec.

tick

Monolithic precision machined frame

Kimla are able to produce machines with a working area up to 12m long, formed from a single precision machined frame which requires no special foundation for installation.

tick

Dynamic Vector Analysis (DVA) control system

Kimla have developed their own control system that removes restrictions on data processing imposed by traditional third party controllers allowing full exploitation of fiber technology.

tick

Anti-collision system

Fast becoming a standard requirement in the industry, Kimla continues to lead the field with the fastest responding anticollision system available. See the video below.

KImla fiber laser cutting head

Linear drives

High powered electro magnets allow the machine to accelerate at 60 m/sec/ sec up to a top speed of 5000 mm/sec.

Kimla manufacture their own high power density drives in house. Using a magnetic contactless drive system, linear drives have no wearable parts and deliver inexhaustible power. To maximise efficiency, the drives recirculate energy between decelerating axis and accelerating axis. While other fiber laser manufacturers equip linear drives to a single axis for marketing purposes, Kimla fit them to all standard.

Kimla PowerCut

Frame design

When operating at such high speeds, stability is key to producing consistently accurate parts.

Rather than taking the traditional modular approach to frame assembly, Kimla produce their frames in a single piece. Significant investment in machine tool technology allows them to produce monolithic frames up to 3m x 12m, each precision machined to the highest possible tolerance in one operation. This approach produces the most rigid and accurate frame possible, which requires no special foundations for installation.

Kimla CNC control

Dynamic Vector Analysis (DVA)

Power and speed is nothing without control.

At the heart of every Kimla CNC is their unique control system. Developed over the past three decades, the integrated CAD/ CAM/ NESTING functionality is not bound by the restraints of off the shelf controllers. DVA processes up to 20,000 lines of g-code per second for smooth regulation of the feed speed resulting in more accurate machining at higher speeds. In addition, cutting simulations and processing times are 100% accurate for confident pricing of complex jobs.
