Seven-Up For Lawsons

Elcons in multiple for Hertfordshire timber suppliers

A star customer for Daltons Wadkin, Lawsons (Whetstone) Ltd have so far purchased seven Elcon Vertical Panel Saws, now installed at six of their home counties branches.

The latest purchase was an Elcon 155DS Limpio which incorporates the manufacturer’s patented extraction system removing waste from both in front and behind the material and dramatically reducing the operator’s exposure to hazardous dust to less than 0.5 mg/m?. The machine incorporates the usual Elcon high precision steel frame guaranteeing an accuracy of 0.1 mm per metre of cut.

The Limpio system is a particularly welcome feature to Lawsons who greatly value the health and safety benefits and improved working environment.

Daltons Wadkin are sole UK and Ireland distributors for the Dutch manufactured Elcon Vertical Saw range and the machine was supplied and installed by Daltons Wadkin engineers at Lawsons Camden depot in October 2013, thus building on the success of the other six Elcons at Whetstone, Colney Heath, Salford and Coulsden.

Lawsons are a family business established in 1921 in north London and have 18 branches around the London area. “So there may still be hope for more sales”, observed Daltons Wadkin Sales Director Andy Walsh who has personally negotiated most of the business with his opposite number at Lawsons Joe Gillespie. Andy added, “It is always great to trade with a well established family business similar to our own and the fact that we have been putting in state of the art equipment, including incidentally a number of Stenner Band Resaws, makes it all the more satisfying.”

Joe Gillespie said, “The Elcon machines do everything we require from them and more. They have proved to be accurate and reliable and wherever they have been installed they have impacted positively on our production capacity. Daltons Wadkin have guided us successfully over the years and the support from their engineering team has been top class.”
