Italian CNC specialists Greda have made significant enhancements to their range of machining centres with added efficiency for the furniture sector. Throughout 2018 Daltons Wadkin, sole distributors for Greda in the UK and Ireland, will be offering customers the chance to discover the many manufacturing advantages the equipment offers.
Having recently moved into new purpose built premises, Greda’s CEO Marianna Daschini, is excited for the prospects in 2018. ‘We have developed a range of CNC machining centers with significant enhancements, more effective, more automated, smarter… more “Industry 4.0”! Attending so many exhibitions around the world, we have seen that our solutions are appreciated by many, and this was the starting point for the reorganisation we have undertaken, also involving our sales operations. So, more than ever, we are ready to look ahead!
Greda have a key product focus on 5 axis CNC routers and CNC lathes designed predominantly for the furniture manufacturing industry, but also utilised in aerospace and automotive sectors for working on a range of materials. Diva, Mitika and Poker are the key flagship products which have been entirely redesigned as evidence of the high technological standards constantly offered by the company and their determination to pursue clear goals.
‘Machining centers with superior performance, to reduce downtime dramatically, that’s what the market is looking for. Machines that are smarter, connected to the entire “enterprise ecosystem” and capable of working unattended, with automated loading and unloading systems. So, not just higher productivity with identical quality, but also controlled with controllable costs’, adds Piero Daschini, co-owner of Greda.
The new Diva model is a compact CNC machining centre with 5 interpolated axes that can bore, mortise, tenon, mill, finger-joint and route on five workpiece faces; a perfect solution both for small batches and large volumes, thanks to optional automatic loading and unloading systems. With a machine footprint less than ten square metres the Diva is now equipped with highly versatile and intelligent worktables and self-positioning clamping systems.
For turned components the 5 axis CNC lathe Mitika and its 4 axis brother Poker V, offer multiple functions to turn, mill, shape and sand solid wood parts in one cycle at high speed, with intelligent tool changers that work in “hidden time” and optional automatic loading/unloading systems. These machines have been redesigned with stiffened frames to provide further support for high precision, high speed manufacturing.
‘We have revised our CNC machining centres in depth’, Piero Daschini concludes, ‘adopting more advanced components and focusing on the standardization of construction. Another new element for all three machines is the GreCam software, a new intelligent tool developed to optimize each process stage for maximum working efficiency’.
GreCam is another indicator of Greda’s new focus, a more powerful and flexible software that will be installed on all their CNC machines, providing users with an easier tool to manage machine operation as well as for creating and designing the workpiece, simulate toolpaths and processing steps in 3D. The operator has a flexible workflow with options to import files generated from third party software prior to optimising them on the machine, or to use GreCam, a unique, flexible and easy-to-use platform that is constantly evolving.Explore the range of Greda CNC Machines
