Phillipson RBS1 Bobbin Sander 1

Daltons Wadkin fill a gap in the market. The Phillipson reciprocating vertical bobbin sander, believed to be the only heavy duty machine of its type in current production, is back in manufacture at the Daltons Wadkin facility in Nottingham.

The company, who hold manufacture and distribution rights for the entire Phillipson range, already offer 16/24 and 30″ disc sanders, disc and belt, and contour belt machines for industrial applications in pattern shops, and a wide variety of uses in the automotive and aerospace industries as well as government departments and technical colleges throughout the UK and overseas.

All the machines are manufactured in the Daltons Wadkin engineering workshop. They incorporate heavy cast iron bases and tables for ultimate vibration free performance, as well as braking and control systems to meet current legislation. The RBS1 bobbin sander has two-way tilt adjustment to the table, vertical movement as well as reciprocating motion to the bobbin and is equipped with a range of bobbins and table fill in pieces to suit a variety of uses. The sanding paper is supplied in sleeves which simply slide on to the bobbin and are retained in position by a collar and nut.

Francis Dalton commented, ‘This is a unique machine in today’s market and meets the requirement left by the old Wadkin JY sanders, which have now been out of production for many years. It is built to fine tolerances and designed for genuine industrial use in almost any environment.’
